Several years ago when I was taking guitar/bass lessons I remember talking to my teacher about how recording artists after time wind up writing the “you gottas”. He was like what do you mean. I said you know like “you got to get up in the morning and go to work, you got to pay your dues, you got to put up with the boss.” I figured that when an artist gets older they get out of touch with average people lives and try to imagine what is like to be average and want to write a song that connects with them. Listening to Jeff Lyne today one of the songs starts off “You got to learn how to cry before you learn how to fall, you got to turn from the darkness..” The “You gottas” is a music artist jumping the shark.
music:Of Monsters and Men – My Head is an Animal, Jeff Lyne – ELO – Alone in the Universe, Pat Metheny – Secret Story
I watched another lecture Great Courses- Our Night Sky. This one covered the fall sky.
