I have been working on redoing the geometry of the EOTR Elf. I think I am about done. Here is what it looks like now.

It is much easier to unwrap it to paint. Before there were so many pieces that sometimes the edges would bleed through or not be able to be painted at all. I had unwrapped, painted and reapplied a rigging to the model. It was then that I realized I had not made sure to include extra loops near the elbows and knees. This should make the movement for animation smoother. Of course that meant going back a few steps.

 

Advent of Code

I now have ten stars, two stars for each day. Yesterday I made a mistake and thought it wanted one thing when it wanted another, so it took longer than it should have. Today was more straight forward, I tried using recursion but it ran out of levels, so I had to rethink it and hit it with brute force. The second part took much longer to run because to be certain I had to run the first part 26 times, one for each letter of the alphabet.
