I continued with the Blender course. Setting up a backdrop and starting to model a lamp using bezier curves. Of course, this will lead to an animated lamp at some point. Here are some Cycles renders the first is a cone with the backdrop then the lamp base with backdrop followed by a Blender render using a different light source. The Cycles is a newer rendering engine that produces much more realistic renders.
I dug up my copies of Sketch magazine and started reading them. I found I could skip part of the first one since it was where the Mitch Byrd perspective already covered in Notes to Draw From.
